Getting Started
What is RePeaks?▼
RePeaks is a marketplace for buying, selling, and renting used mountaineering and climbing gear. We use AI to automatically assess gear condition from photos.
How do I register?▼
Click 'Sign In' in the header. You can sign in with Google or by email — we'll send you a verification code. Registration is free.
Do I need to pay to use the service?▼
Basic functionality is free: up to 10 items in your inventory. For unlimited items, a PRO subscription is available.
Which regions does RePeaks operate in?▼
We currently operate in Central Asia (Bishkek, Almaty, Karakol) and the Alps (Chamonix, Zermatt, Innsbruck). We plan to expand to the Caucasus, Pamir, and Himalayas.
Adding Gear
How do I add gear?▼
Click 'Add Gear', upload 1-5 photos. AI will automatically identify the brand, model, condition, and suggest a market price. You can edit all details.
What photos should I upload?▼
Upload clear photos with good lighting. Take shots from different angles, show the brand label and model, as well as any defects or wear.
What photo formats are supported?▼
PNG, JPEG, GIF, and WebP are supported. Maximum 5 photos per item.
Can I add gear without selling it?▼
Yes! You can maintain a personal gear inventory. Each item starts as a 'draft' — you decide when to list it for sale or rent.
How many items can I add?▼
Free tier: up to 10 items. With PRO subscription: unlimited.
AI Assessment
How does AI assessment work?▼
We use Google Cloud Vision for object and text recognition in photos, Google Gemini AI for condition analysis and description generation, plus data from eBay and other platforms for market price estimation.
How accurate is AI assessment?▼
AI shows a confidence level (0-100%). With high confidence (>80%), the assessment is usually close to actual market price. With low confidence, we recommend adding more photos or editing details manually.
Can I change the suggested price?▼
Yes, you have full control over pricing. AI assessment is a recommendation based on market data. You can set any price you want.
AI identified the wrong model. What should I do?▼
You can manually edit all data: name, brand, model, description. Try adding a photo of the label with the model for more accurate recognition.
What data does AI detect automatically?▼
Brand, model, category, color, material, size, specifications, condition, wear notes, safety rating, and market price.
Buying and Selling
How do I list gear for sale?▼
Open an item in your inventory and click 'List for Sale'. Provide contact information. The listing will appear in the catalog immediately.
How do I contact a seller?▼
The listing page shows seller contacts: phone, email, Telegram. Contacts are only visible to logged-in users.
Does RePeaks charge a commission on sales?▼
No, we don't charge any commission. Transactions happen directly between buyer and seller.
How does payment work?▼
We don't process payments. Buyer and seller agree on payment method directly. We recommend secure methods and meeting in person.
Can I return an item?▼
RePeaks is a platform connecting buyers and sellers. Return conditions are discussed between parties. We recommend inspecting gear in person before purchase.
Gear Rental
How do I rent out gear?▼
Open an item and select 'List for Rent'. Set a price per day, week, or month, and specify the deposit amount.
How do I track rentals?▼
When lending gear, create a rental record: who, when, for how long. The system will remind you about returns.
Who is the rental feature for?▼
For personal use, climbing clubs, sections, and rental shops. You can track all loans and returns, see rental history for each item.
Can I rent gear on RePeaks?▼
Yes, there's a 'Rental' filter in the catalog — it shows gear available for rent in your city.
Safety
Is it safe to buy used climbing gear?▼
Climbing gear is personal protective equipment. We recommend: 1) Inspect gear in person, 2) Check for damage, 3) Ask about usage history, 4) Don't buy gear that has taken serious falls.
How does AI assess gear safety?▼
AI analyzes photos and determines a safety rating: 'safe', 'needs attention', or 'unsafe'. This is a recommendation — final assessment is up to the buyer.
What if the gear is damaged?▼
Sellers must disclose all defects in the description. If you discover hidden defects after purchase — contact the seller. We can help resolve disputes.
Does RePeaks inspect gear?▼
We don't conduct physical inspections. AI analyzes photos and warns about visible defects. We always recommend checking gear in person.
Account and Subscription
What does PRO subscription include?▼
Unlimited inventory items, priority AI analysis, extended statistics, priority support.
How much does PRO cost?▼
Current prices are shown when subscribing. Options available for 1, 3, and 12 months with progressive discounts.
How do I cancel my subscription?▼
Email hello@repeaks.com. Your subscription will remain active until the end of the paid period.
How do I delete my account?▼
Email hello@repeaks.com requesting account deletion. We will delete all your data in accordance with our privacy policy.
Can I transfer data to another account?▼
Contact support — we'll help with data transfer between accounts.
Technical Questions
Which browsers are supported?▼
All modern browsers: Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge. We recommend using the latest version.
Is there a mobile app?▼
Not yet, but the website is fully mobile-responsive. An app is in our plans.
Photos won't upload. What should I do?▼
Check: 1) File format (PNG, JPEG, GIF, WebP), 2) File size (max 10 MB), 3) Internet connection stability. If the problem persists — contact support.
AI is taking a long time to analyze. Is this normal?▼
Analysis usually takes 10-30 seconds. Under heavy load, it may take up to a minute. If analysis doesn't complete — refresh the page and try again.
